My Foreign Travel Notes (7) Five Trips to Vietnam (2)

In Vietnam, what impresses me most is army of motorcycles in city. Sooner or later it can be called restless. Whether north or south, motorcycles are everywhere. On narrow roads, cars, pedestrians and motorcycles are mixed together. Very busy. In early years, there was a huge market for motorcycles in our country and they were everywhere, but later, because of service and quality, they gradually became Nissan. When I went there a few times, roads were mostly Hondas. Such as Japanese brands, it is rare to see our domestic brands.

Beef noodles are a staple of Vietnam, whether in north or south, in small roadside shops or luxury hotels, and they are delicious. It can be said here that beef noodles in Ho Chi Minh are especially delicious, they are served with seafood seasoning and lemon juice, and there are also photos of him having lunch, and many other celebrities are hanging here, which can be seen. It's also because of amazing taste. I've been to Ho Chi Minh three times and this is a must see every time.

It is worth mentioning that fruits in Vietnam, refrigeration and cold chain transport technologies in those years were not as developed as they are now, so many fruits in southern tropical regions have never been eaten before. I remember dragon fruit. and mangosteen for first time. i ate it when i went to vietnam. at that time there were many small stalls in front of hotel, and they were also very cheap, especially purple-red mangosteen in hard shell. delicious.

The coffee in Vietnam is also very good. The famous cat poop coffee is famous cat poop coffee. The few times we were on road, we chose a quiet coffee shop and had a cup of coffee with cat poop. Refresh when you get back to China, everyone will buy coffee beans or ground coffee from hypermarket there.

There is a lot of mahogany in Vietnam, so there are a lot of handicrafts. Such benches for needlework are often found on side of road. The mahogany pieces inside are quite attractive. I also bought a mahogany pen holder and a vase. There are shell inlays on them, which were really beautiful at time, but after a long time, shells will be crushed due to thermal expansion and contraction. Now, on two mahogany vases in my house, shell inlay is uneven. There are cracks.

In fact, each region and each nation has its own characteristics and wonderful traditions. In Vietnam, especially during last three visits, I found that concept of environmental protection is still very strong, which is reflected not only in government's environmental protection requirements for investment, but also in daily life of ordinary people, all who discover them self-awareness in this regard. Where we were, rivers and green stripes of parks are very clean, you can not see white pollution and plastic bags flying around. In factory dormitory we visited, there are 8 bunk beds for female workers in one room. The corridors are clean, there are shoes at doors of each room. Workers enter door barefoot. The room is also immaculate and clean. pleasing to eye.

When we visited Ho Chi Minh's former residence, in farmhouses on both sides of road, we also saw locals entering house barefoot and leaving their shoes at door. We went to their door to see, although there were piles of plastic bags with corn and such, but they were neatly arranged and ground was washed clean. It can be seen that love of neatness and cleanliness is a good local habit.

The concept of protecting environment is also reflected in Zhuanjiyin food. When I went to see it several times, whether it was a restaurant, a small shop, or a big shop, I couldn't see any Zhuanjiyin food. It can be seen that local area pays great attention and attention to this aspect.

During my investigation in Vietnam, I also fully understood what is meant by four walls of house. On way to former residence of Ho Chi Minh, we saw a family in an apartment building on side of road Drying sweet potatoes in sun, house is very old, about 20 by 30 square meters, no partition, just a big room built with bricks in corner and put a wooden bed covered with a dark mat. , there is a table diagonally across corner, also very worn, it has an old nine-inch black-and-white TV, and besides it there is no furniture, maybe it’s hot there, and I don’t need to store extra clothes, so I don’t need any cabinets and things like that, but I don’t want to be so poor and have nothing. This also indirectly indicates that life in countryside is still very difficult, conditions are still very bad, and cost of labor is very low.
