My notes on foreign travel (7) Five trips to Vietnam (3)

When traveling around Vietnam, be sure to visit Ha Long Bay. Halong Bay is located in bay of Halong City, Quang Ninh Province. It is a world natural heritage site and a typical karst landform. It is somewhat similar to landscape of Guilin. It can also be said that this is Guilin by sea. It has beautiful scenery and enchanting scenery to get around they need half a day. When you go out to sea on a boat in morning, you will almost have to eat when you arrive at scenic spot. Usually you will be on a boat. The boatman will prepare seafood. Of course, he will ask customers for their opinion on specific dishes, because different dishes are charged different prices .

    Halong Bay

There are more than 1,600 large and small islands in Halong Bay, which are scattered over a bay of more than 1,500 square kilometers. They are tall and strange, some like galloping horses, and others like fighting cocks. Due to steep terrain, most of islands are untouched so they can retain their natural scenery. Rocks in different poses against blue water and colors of distant sky create an artistic concept like an ink painting that is too beautiful to be absorbed. In addition, there are caves on some of islands in Halong Bay, and colorful and varied stalactites have different shapes that are truly unique.

Because of topography and geography, rivers in Vietnam flow from north to south, and beaches do not have estuaries, so beaches in Vietnam are relatively clean and beautiful, such as My Khe Beach in Da Nang, known as one of six most beautiful beaches in world, with soft white sand, blue sea water, clean sandy beach, intoxicating. There are also beautiful beaches such as Vung Tau in southern province of Dong Nai. It is a pity that due to lack of time I was not able to visit resort of Nha Trang Beach.

Hanoi, capital of Vietnam and a big city in north, has over 1000 years of history. Here are famous Bad Dinh Square and Hoan Kiem Lake, and they all have their own history. You can also take a look at One Pillar Temple, former residence of Ho Chi Minh, etc. and learn about history and culture of Vietnam.

Compared to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City in south, which is original Saigon, is much more developed and prosperous. It was once called Little Paris of East. Since it was a French colony, French architecture and French culture left deep marks, such as famous Saigon Post Office, Red Church and Reunification Palace and so on.

The Saigon Post Office was built in late 19th century by a French architect. The interior of hall is beautifully decorated with a strong classical atmosphere. The layout of two sides and middle of hall is reasonable. There is a map of Vietnam to left and right of hall, which is considered French geography of year. Hand-painted by scholars, domes, round flower windows, ornate chandeliers, flower wall lamps, electric fans, etc. are all this is indicative of style of Gothic architecture. At present, this building is still in use.

The Red Church is a famous landmark in Saigon. It was built on model of bell tower of Notre Dame de Paris. She is proportionate, majestic and majestic. In front of church is also a statue of Virgin Mary weighing 4,000 kilograms. The church was originally called Notre Dame in Saigon, and it got its name from fact that it was built of red brick. It is said that all red brick used in construction was brought from France. A hundred years later, color changed. remains bright and does not fade. The church is in a busy and noisy part of Saigon and post office is on left hand side which is very convenient.

The Reunification Palace is a 120,000-square-meter, four-story white building that was home of former Nanyue Zongtongfu. The rooms and halls in building are beautifully and magnificently decorated, and garden design uses same left-right symmetrical layout as building, echoing each other and forming a harmonious whole. The Reunification Palace was built by former French colonists in 1869 by then Governor of South Vietnam to strengthen his rule in Vietnam. It is actually Palace of Governor of France throughout region of Indochina.

Vietnam also has many unforgettable places, especially our race to Ban Jok waterfall, which took almost nine hours on way. Banjo Waterfall is located in Bank, Chongqing County, Gaoping Province, Northeast Vietnam. It is connected to Detian Waterfall in Chongzuo City, Guangxi, China. According to data, waterfall is 208 meters wide during rainy season. It is very impressive. and ranks between Brazil and Argentina. After Iguazu Falls, Victoria Falls between Zambia and Zimbabwe, and Niagara Falls between United States and Canada, it forms fourth largest transnational waterfall in world and first in Asia. The Banyue Waterfall Scenic Area is mostly empty, Vietnamese business here is not very good, and staff is mostly idle, there are only a few people, and flow of people visiting waterfall in Guangxi on other hand is crowded, forming a stark contrast.
