1. Cape Sounion
Cape Sounion, located at southernmost tip of Attica peninsula, is home to ruins of ancient Greek temple of sea god Poseidon. The remains were perched on a cape, surrounded on all sides by sea. The site is a popular day trip destination for tourists from Athens and visitors can see Aegean sunset from ruins.
2. Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki - the second largest city in Greece and capital of Macedonia region in northern Greece. Many festivals and vibrant nightlife make city cultural capital of Greece. Thessaloniki is made up of a historic city center and a vibrant business district, from Byzantine walls, White Tower and Turkish baths to colorful food markets, museums and galleries. The nightlife in Thessaloniki is unparalleled, from taverns to nightclubs and entertainment venues.
3. Sunburn
Zagori is a region of beautiful nature with rich geological features and two national parks in northwest Greece . Dense forests and rocky mountains abound, while mighty rivers dot traditional villages. Here, many villages are built up with large stone houses built in late 18th century. 4. Halkidiki
Chalkidiki is a triangular peninsula near city of Thessaloniki with excellent beaches. The three distinct peninsulas can be broadly summarized as follows: Kassandra has nightlife, Sithonia has beaches, and Athos has monks. Kassandra, closest to Thessaloniki, has more spacious buildings, while quiet Sithonia has campsites, hidden coves and clear waters. Both are popular with tourists from Greece and Eastern Europe. Most of easternmost peninsula belongs to monastic community of Mount Athos.
5. Peloponnese
The Peloponnese is shaped like a large leaf and is traditionally called Morea, meaning mulberry leaf. Located at southernmost tip of Europe and Greece, Peloponnese is a wide peninsula connected to mainland by Rio Andrio bridge. The Peloponnese is dotted with classic Greek temples, Venetian fortresses, Byzantine churches and Mycenaean palaces, reflecting ancient cultures and events of its long history. Among these ancient ruins is Olympia,the place where first Olympic Games were held in honor of Zeus.
