Because my country's economy is booming and the national income is increasing, many friends prefer to travel abroad, such as Thailand, Malaysia, etc. Actually, Japan is also a good choice. The following editor would like to introduce you to Shimanto City in Kochi Prefecture, Shikoku Island, Japan. Shimanto City is called "Stove City" because it was transformed into a city in 2013. The highest temperature in Japan was "41 degrees". The high temperature for more than ten days in a row attracted people, a large number of tourists came there.
City of Shimanto covers an area of 633 square kilometers. The city's iconic scenic spot is Shimanto River, largest river on island of Shikoku. The river has no reservoirs, which is why it is called last clean stream of Japan and Shizuoka. The Kakita River in Gifu Prefecture and Nagara River in Gifu Prefecture are collectively known as "Three Clear Streams in Japan". Tourists can raft down river or enjoy elegant scenery on sunken bridge between rocks.
In next editor, we'll take a look at top 5 scenic spots in Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture, Shikoku Island, Japan, and a lighthouse overlooking Pacific Ocean!
Cape AshizuriThe first scenic spot I want to introduce is "Cape Asizuri". Cape Ashizuri is actually a lighthouse in city of Shimanto. It is located on southernmost cape of island of Shikoku. Standing on observation deck of lighthouse, you can get 270. At same time, you will also find that when you look at horizon from a distance, you can really feel fact that earth is round. At same time, "Lighthouse at Cape Ashizuri" became a landmark in city of Shimanto.
A hobby trainThe second scenic spot I want to talk about is JR Shikoku line, created for 100th anniversary of Kinaga Station and officially opened in 2014. Based on appearance of 0 Series Shinkansen as a model, vehicle has seat belts and display cases that are actually used by 0 Series Shinkansen. In showcase of model railways, etc. If you are a railway lover, then do not miss special line.
Sunset in TorumThe third scenic spot I want to introduce is "Torum Sunset", days before and after spring and autumn equinoxes. The cave gate, formed by erosion of sea water, is about 4 m wide and 80 m high. Before sun hits Pacific Ocean, golden light illuminates cave gate, painting sea surface in an incredible and magical landscape.
At around 17:40 you can see "Sunset of Torum". Due to influence of weather, you may not be able to watch it, but you can see magnificent scenery intertwined with nature, and it's sure to stay in your mind, make a deep impression. The editor has to say that Japanese aesthetic is quite unique.
Sada descends to bridgeThe fourth picturesque place I want to talk about is Sunken Bridge of Garden. Sunken Sada Bridge is bridge closest to mouth of Shimanto River among many sunken bridges. Its official name is Imari Bridge. Actually, a sunken bridge refers to a bridge that has no railing and will be flooded by river when tide rises. In Shimanto River Basin, 47 sunken bridges were built, including tributaries. The bridge is integrated with clear water surface and surrounding mountains and rivers like a landscape painting, becoming most beautiful scenery of Shimanto River.
Sade's Sunken Bridge was built in 1972 and is 291 meters long and 4.2 meters wide. It is longest bridge among sunken bridges. The blue base of bridge is its main feature. On bridge, you can admire beautiful scenery, while feeling closeness of nature. At peak of tourist season, many tourists gather.
Ashizuri Underwater MuseumThe fourth attraction I want to introduce is Ashizuri Underwater Museum. It is located in Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park in Kochi Prefecture. The museum is divided into two different observatories at sea and underwater. The tower is about 24 meters high, and depth of underwater observatory is about 7 meters.
