Because I just arrived in Bolivia yesterday, I didn't go shopping much. Today is my second day in Bolivia. After breakfast, I returned to house, but checkout time here is 10 o'clock, no. For example, checkout time in our country is 12 o'clock. Then I checked in my luggage at travel agency, turned around and came to pier. There are several types of boats at pier in Bolivia, some go to Sun Island, some go to North Pier and some go to Mun Island. Since I am planning to go to Island of Sun today, this is nearest place.
Because I informed local travel agency yesterday, they said that I should meet at pier today at 9:00 am, but Bolivians asked me to wait half an hour. I just got on boat. The boat is divided into upper and lower decks. From upper deck, view is wider, but wind and waves are too strong. I decided to sit on lower deck, because there really is no scenery on sea. I drove like this for about an hour, and arrived at Isla del Sol in Bolivia at 10:30, but boat left after 45 minutes. I almost overestimated myself, but, fortunately, caught up, otherwise I would not have been able to return.
After I got off boat on Sun Island, I saw local pier to my left, probably tourists waiting here for boat to leave after game. Sun Island is largest island on Lake Titicaca, in fact there are many hotels on island, but you can play only half a day, otherwise you really want to stay here for one night.
The tour guide said that top of island here is a big tree, so I chose road to mountain at random. After walking for half an hour, I did not go even half way. way to get to top of island. So, I went to wrong place on island, and this should be highest place. I was almost late and ran downstairs in a hurry, urging captain not to leave, but, fortunately, captain heard me and did not stay on island. The boat got back to Copacabana on time, I hurried non-stop to toilet, bought food, and then took a bus to La Paz, capital of Bolivia, in the afternoon. This small town is a bit like Dali before development, and it still has a lot of feel to it.
So I took a bus to La Paz. Lake Titicaca outside window is very beautiful. I wanted to swim, but altitude is high here, and I was a bit high then. In car, I met a Taiwanese couple again, they also came to Bolivia for tourism, and I proudly told them that as long as they are Chinese, they can sign immediately upon arrival, which is very convenient. After driving for an hour, we were back at ferry crossing. In fact, both sides of river are Bolivia, but we were asked to get off bus, transfer to boat on other side, and then take bus to other side. Maybe Bolivia really doesn't have money to build bridges.
So, having crossed pier, I got back on bus, looked at scenery outside window all way, and arrived in La Paz in more than 3 hours. I finally arrived in La Paz at 5:30 in afternoon, fortunately station was full of goods, but language was blocked. If you do have altitude sickness, it is very helpful to take Bili Pain. Next, I will drive to Uyuni, Bolivia, largest salt lake in world.
