Finally, after more than 3 hours of driving, I was stopped and searched 3 times on road. I really feel like a fugitive. In another 2 hours we have a market in front of us, and we are going to arrive in Yonguyo, a small town on border of Bolivia and Peru. Look at guidebook and say that everyone in market must get off bus and cross border on foot. But I came by taxi, so I was not afraid, so I asked driver to drive all way there. I was a little nervous because I was going to drive from Peruvian border to Bolivia, but driver didn't seem to know way. way, and asked questions while driving. After an hour of running around, Finally arrived, opposite this is territory of Bolivia.
Due to language barrier, we gesticulated with our hands, which meant telling him to wait for me for 2 hours. If you haven't arrived yet, you can leave. I walked this road to Bolivia alone. There were no police on road and no one searched me. So I came from Peruvian border to Bolivian border. I was a little nervous when I crossed border for first time. Turned out there was room ahead for immigration formalities so I filled it out quickly, but since Bolivia only accepts pesos and not US dollars, so I went next door to change and filled out Bolivia Travel Permit in 10 minutes up .
So I have successfully cleared customs and am about to take a taxi to Copacabana, Bolivia, a small town near Lake Titicaca. An exciting day of preparation is over. Tomorrow we plan to go to Sunny Island and local attractions, but we walked along streets of Copacabana, and just saw a lot of travel agencies, so we booked a travel agency, and itinerary for tomorrow is already booked and done.
But since I reviewed course of day, it was so exciting that I didn't eat all day, and now I'm going to eat well. The owner of hotel recommended us to come to this place, a restaurant on lake, I went to second floor to eat, because from window on second floor you can see whole Lake Titicaca, but sun is shining through window, it is a bit dry. The host recommended me a special lake fish dish as I was so hungry I couldn't eat anything, when I paid bill it was quite cheap.
After dinner I went to Lake Titicaca and rented a little yellow duck to play with. Gradually it got dark, and I walked along main road back to hotel, where I stopped, ready to enter non-tourist area. There are tasty dishes along way, but for safety reasons, I dare not eat them.
After returning to hotel, I saw night view outside hotel window. To be honest, I really want to stay here for a few days. However, tourists from mainland rarely come to Bolivia. But this hotel is on top of a mountain. In Hong Kong, such a hotel room with a sea view costs at least a few thousand per night, and in Bolivia it costs only 300 yuan, which is really worth it. Nearby villas also cost about 300. Since boss does not can speak at noon, we communicated in sign language throughout process.
